Tink's - Returns Policy
Under Australian law, you have a right to an unconditional, full refund if the goods:
- are faulty "out of the box".
- are unfit for their purpose (they don't do what they are supposed to do).
- do not match the description or sample you were shown.
- have defects that were not obvious or were not brought to your attention when you bought them.
- were bought on the basis of misleading information.
Under these circumstances no handling or administration fees will be charged.
In all other cases, returns for refund:
- Must be made within a reasonable time frame, typically within 30 days.
- Are at your own expense (Tink's will not refund delivery charges or any shipping costs incurred returning goods).
- May be subject to supplier restocking fees. Fees vary from supplier to supplier (typically between 10% and 25% of the value of the item being returned).
To seek a refund:
- Return the goods within 30 days of receiving them, along with any manuals and original packaging.
- Include a copy of the invoice which was sent with your goods.
- Include a note outlining why you are seeking a refund.
Feel free to
contact us in advance of returning your goods if you are unsure.
Should the goods in question develop a fault within their warranty period, please refer to our warranty policy. If you are unsure about any aspect of your item's warranty, including how long it is covered for, please contact us.
Tink's - Warranty Policy
Tink's operate a workshop / repair centre and are warranty repair agents for all brands of equipment that we sell. Most of our manufacturer's operate an Australia wide network of warranty repair centres.
If you are not in our local service area, please Contact Us and we will point you to your nearest warranty agent.
Customers In Our Service Area
Wether or not a repair is covered by warranty is at the equipment manufacturer's discretion. We have no part in making this decision. Should a repair be deemed as not covered by warranty,
we will contact you with the manufacturer's explanation and a quote to fix your item.
Warranty policies differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. In most cases the manufacturer will contract us to repair the item, however some will choose to replace the item.
Should the manufacturer choose to replace the item:
- It will be delivered to our store; you may collect it, however if you need it delivered this will be at your expense.
- It will be subject to your original warranty period. You do not get a new warranty with the replacement item.
- It may be a factory reconditioned item, not a brand new item.
In all cases where repairs are covered by warranty, it should be understood that we operate under instructions from the manufacturer, as they are the one paying for the repair.
Where parts are required to fix a warranty problem, it may take the manufacturer some time to provide these depending on stock availability. We try to deal only with reputable brands
that keep good stocks of spare parts in Australian warehouses, however sometimes parts may take some weeks to be supplied.
We make an effort to prioritise our workshop repairs based on the perceived needs of our customers;
- Pumps involved in stock water supply.
- Pumps involved in household water supply.
- Pumps involved in irrigation & horticultural applications.
- Commercial Contracting Equipment - income producing equipment.
- Warranty Repairs.
- General Service & Repairs.
If the item you are returning under warranty is a pump (excluding fountain and water feature pumps, which are classed as general repairs), please let us know what application it is installed in so we can prioritise it's repair as required.
When you purchase equipment and sign a warranty agreement, you are usually asked to indicate whether or not the item will be used commercially. We only class repairs as "Commercial Contracting Equipment"
if it is stipulated by your warranty policy.
Equipment Not Purchased From Us
Where your equipment was not purchased from us, we require a copy of your original sales invoice / receipt before we can process a warranty claim.
